| Yesterday morning, 2017 Symposium on Cross-Strait Cold Chain Logistics Industry Cooperation, themed "Integrated Innovation, Concerted Efforts", was held at Ningbo International Marine Ecological Technology City (NIMETC). Steered by MOFCOM and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council (TAO), hosted by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and Planning Institute and the Administrative Committee of Meishan Free Trade Port Area, co-hosted by the Cross-Strait Business Development Committee and TCCA, the symposium focuses on cold chain development across the Strait and the opportunity from Belt and Road construction, and strives to build the most authoritative academic exchange and industrial cooperation platform in the cold chain logistics field across the Strait to effectively promote cross-Strait industrial resource connection. Besides, the platform will be used to further deepen cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation in relevant fields including food processing, catering, e-commerce and finance.
On behalf of the Ningbo Municipal People's Government, Li extended heartfelt thanks to MOFCOM and TAO, and expressed warm welcome to the Taiwanese entrepreneurs, leaders of brother provinces and cities, as well as entrepreneurs present. As an economic center on the south wing of the Yangtze River Delta and a renowned national historical and cultural city, Ningbo enjoys unique port resources and superior private economy. Driven by the port, Ningbo has developed rapidly and Ningbo's private economy has shown great vitality. Guided by the spirit of the 19th National Congress of CPC, Ningbo is making all-out efforts to advance a number of major platforms and projects including Belt and Road Construction Comprehensive Pilot Zone, "Made in China 2025" Pilot Demonstration City and Insurance Innovation Comprehensive Pilot Zone, creating a good opportunity and a broad space for deepening Ningbo-Taiwan exchanges and cooperation.
Ningbo has made great strides in cold chain logistics infrastructure construction, import system construction, market subject cultivation, service capacity improvement and other aspects, Ningbo's refrigeration storage capacity will hit 500,000 tons by late 2018, then a leading import and export cold chain logistics distribution center in the Yangtze River focusing on Ningbo Port Cold Chain Logistics Center and Meishan Free Trade Port Area, and supported by China Merchants Logistics Center, Nanjing Airport Logistics Park and Ningnan Trade Logistics Park will come into existence. The symposium has created a good exchange and consultation platform, said him, hoping that entrepreneurs, experts and scholars will walk around in Ningbo, learn about Ningbo, pay attention to Ningbo and invest in Ningbo to achieve cooperation and win-win situation.
At the symposium, "China-Europe Block Train Cold Chain Logistics", "One-day Food Delivery across the Strait" and "Cross-Strait Sea Food Trade and Cold Chain Logistics Cooperation" were signed, and cross-Strait cold chain logistics industry cooperation projects were commended.
Leaders, experts and entrepreneurs from across the Strait also reviewed the opportunity for Belt and Road and cross-Strait cold chain logistics industry development and cross-Strait cold chain industry cooperation, looked into the future of cross-Strait cold chain industry development and cooperation, introduced the policies for cross-Strait cold chain logistics industry cooperation, promoted cities, shared technologies and exchanged experience.
